As the quarterback prepares for what may be his final season with the Dallas Cowboys in September, Dak Prescott is once again in the dark regarding his contract extension. NFL pundit Colin Cowherd, meanwhile, has had enough of Dallas’ ongoing contract crisis and has taken aim at owner Jerry Jones over the situation.

The Cowboys must decide whether to re-sign linebacker Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and quarterback Prescott. Cowherd tackled the problem of the Cowboys players’ incessant demands for money on his Fox program, “The Herd,” and connected it to Jones’s management style.

The Patriots controlled this league for twenty years. Money? I’ve never heard of that,” Cowherd remarked. “All I hear about Dallas is this.”

“But players feed off it when your owner wants to be known as America’s Team and have the biggest, boldest facilities, the nicest yacht, and the coolest stadium.”

Parsons wants the same salary as CeeDee Lamb, who had asked to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. Cowherd made a comparison between the Dallas players’ mindset and the owner’s opulent оutlооk. Cowherd went on to sаy:

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott explains why he's having his 'best' offseason

“In the NFL, the Packers and the Steelers are old money,” Cowherd remarked. “Jerry needs to flash it and place those ostrich boots on the table, but the Cowboys should be.” The drawback is this: “It’s the Cowboys’ trickle-down economics.” A linebacker aspires to be paid the most. Receiver wide: “Give me the money.” I feel as though I’ve been involved in contract negotiations for Dak Prescott for eight years.

However, the Cowboys have not yet re-signed all three players while the market keeps going up. They might end up paying premiums for their players.

While his teammates are constantly in the news for wanting to be paid more money, the 30-year-old has been singing a different tune despite this being the last year on his $160,000,000 contract.

“I don’t play for money,” Prescott said during OTAs a couple of weeks ago. “Never have. Never cared for it, to be honest with you, yeah. Would give it up just to play this game.”

The Cowboys start their season by welcoming the Chicago Bears on Sept. 9. However, their fans may hope the contract issues are sorted by then.
