A small handful of NFL rookies from the 2024 class, including Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, sat down for breakfast with Tom Brady and Jay Z.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion and Empire State of Mind rapper headlined the event in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, with Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.
‘Tommy and Jay, thank you so much for the great advise and expertise you offered – this was such an incredible opportunity for these rooks before they take their first picture,’ Rubin wrote a series of Instagram photos, noting the group ‘talked sports and business.’
‘Big things ahead for this group; can’t wait to see you guys crush it on and off the field,’ the billionaire entrepreneur wrote.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, and Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, as well as the rookie Bears and Patriots quarterbacks, attended the event, which was held in a luxurious Los Angeles mansion.
Brady has attended several of Rubin’s Fanatics parties over the years, and Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation invested $350 million in the sports merchandising powerhouse in 2021.
Images from the low-key event show the NFL’s newest recruits listening carefully as the retired Patriots icon and acclaimed record producer shared his wisdom.
Brady smiled in one photo with Maye, who was taken third overall by New England in the 2024 Draft.
The organization has big hopes for the North Carolina graduate after a challenging few years following Brady’s departure in 2020.
Other photographs showed the 46-year-old sitting next to Williams, who was picked first overall by the Bears.
It comes one week after Matt Eberflus named him Chicago’s starting quarterback.
‘No conversation. He’s the starter,’ Eberflus stated.
The 22-year-old signal caller stated that he is willing to take the necessary steps to learn to lead.
To be a great leader, you must first learn to follow. So right now, I’m following all of the veterans, all of the coaches, and I’m listening — with both ears open and my mouth shut — just sitting back and listening,’ he explained.
‘When I get to the point where I know everything, when I know how we do it, the culture, the playbook, and what the offensive line, wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends are doing, and things like that, then you can start taking the lead, taking the helm, and taking the next steps.’
Williams earned the Heisman Trophy in 2022 and led the Trojans in 2023 with 3,633 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
