Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys faced a difficult afternoon on Sunday. The club lost 31-10 to the Buffalo Bills and had little answer for the Bills’ aggression.
It was a no-contest. The Bills dominated all areas of the game, and the Cowboys could never match their intensity. While it’s understandable that Dallas’ confidence has dipped after an emotional victory against the Philadelphia Eagles the week before, the truth is that Mike McCarthy’s squad had nothing to celebrate on Sunday.
Skip Bayless, a Fox Sports analyst, provided his thoughts on the Cowboys’ loss. Skip stated that he does not trust Dak Prescott when the stakes are high:
I don’t trust him in this situation. If the game doesn’t go as planned for him, he begins to unravel. If the game doesn’t go as planned, he loses confidence in himself. So it was vintage terrible. Dak Prescott, that’s why I can’t wrap my arms around him and adore him the way you still try to. I still believe you are lobbying for Jerry’s compensation because you want us to remain mediocre.
Dak Prescott’s salary
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback is in his third season of a four-year, $160 contract that he signed before the 2021 season. He will earn $31 million in base pay in 2023, with a cap hit of $49.1 million, the highest on the Cowboys’ roster and the third-highest in the league.
The quarterback’s deal is about to be extended, and EVP Stephen Jones has previously stated that this is the franchise’s goal.
Dak Prescott will remain Dallas’ franchise quarterback for a long time. He’s one of the finest players in the game at his position, and if he hits the open market, he’ll have a dozen suitors ready to pay him anything he wants. Jerry Jones understands this and does not want to lose a terrific player.
