Shane Vereen, a former running back for the New England Patriots, was recruited by the Texans to work in player personnel.

Vereen used to serve as a college football analyst for FOX Sports and the Pac-12 Network.
Vereen, 35, caught 221 catches for 1,864 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 1,489 yards and eight touchdowns in his career.

The Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX, and the former Cal second-round draft pick was awarded one Super Bowl ring.

From 2011 to 2014, he was a player with the Patriots; from 2015 to 2017, he was a member of the New York Giants. In 2018, he signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints, and after receiving an injury settlement, he was taken off injured reserve.


He recorded five receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns along with seven rushes for 31 yards and one touchdown in a 2012 divisional round playoff victory over the Texans.


A two-time second-team all-conference selection at Cal, he amassed 2,834 career yards and 29 touchdowns through running.
