They haven’t done much this off-season, even though quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are both due for deal extensions but haven’t gotten one yet. Prescott is in the last year of his contract, which paid him $61 million this season. That’s more than any other player in the NFL. This coming season, Lamb will be in the last year of his rookie deal. He wants to get an increase before the season starts.
ESPN NFL writer Jeremy Fowler says that the contract extension for Lamb has been pushed back. This could be because the Cowboys haven’t made any progress in talks with Prescott about a contract change or extension.
Prescott’s deal is coming to an end this year, and he has a big cap Һit. The Cowboys want to redo his salary, but they have also said they are ready to play with him this season under his present deal.
“But their negotiations so far with Dak have been described to me as passive or even nonexistent,” he said. “There really hasn’t been anything going on, so their actions are saying that maybe if they have to sit on his $61 million cap Һit this year then figure it out later then they’ll do that.””And CeeDee Lamb, so they’ll have to pay someone in the end.” But I think they need to deal with Dak Prescott first before moving on to Lamb. The market for wide receivers is pretty set now; you can expect to pay about $30M a year.He could make a deal in San Francisco, and he could do the same in Minnesota with Justin Jefferson. This would meаn that the markets would restart more times, giving Lamb even more money.
Aside from CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys also have to pay Micah Parsons
The Dallas Cowboys have to pay Micah Parsons, Dak Prescott, and CeeDee Lamb.
His fifth-year option for the 2025 season was recently picked up by the team. He was listed as a defensive end, which saved the team about $3 million in cap room. If they don’t get extensions, Lamb and Prescott will be free agents after this season. Parsons, on the other hand, is signed for two more seasons.
Still, it’s a good idea to pay Parsons as soon as possible. The quarterback market has grown to over $55 million a year, and the wide receiver market has grown to over $30 million a year. Dak Prescott is due for a contract increase.
Nick Bosa is now making $34 million a season as an edge rusher, which is more than $30 million a year.
Long-term deals for the Cowboys’ best players need to be worked out soon, but they still have a lot of work to do.
