This has been a record-setting season for Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb. At the end of the year, he will be named to the First Team and All-Pro.
Michael Irvin had held the Cowboys’ single-season records for catches (122) and yards (1,651). Lamb broke both of those marks.
Irvin was topped by CeeDee in the game against the Detroit Lions, where he had 13 receptions, 227 yards, and one score. Now everyone is saying nice things about him, especially his quarterback Dak Prescott.
Prescott thinks very highly of CeeDee Lamb.
The Cowboys’ records show that Lamb’s season has been one of the best ever. There is only one thing left to add: Dez Bryant holds the record for most catching touchdowns with 16.
But Dak Prescott doesn’t agree. This is what he said through Jon Machota of The Athletics:
“I believe Lamb has become one of the best receivers in the league right now.”
It’s hard to disagree with him on this because Lamb has been great this season. His first game wasn’t until Week 6, and he missed some fourth quarters because the Cowboys were so far ahead. That means his season could have been better.
Is a new contract looming for CeeDee Lamb?
The Cowboys have signed Lamb to play for them next season, and spotrac.com says he will make $17 million a year in base pay.
There is a good chance that the Cowboys and Lamb will talk about a deal this summer. And based on how well he’s done this year, Lamb will get paid a lot.
The star receiver isn’t thinking about that because he wants to win the Suρer Bowl in February. But at some point, he and the powerful people in Dallas will get together and hopefully sign a long-term deal.
And it’s not just Lamb who could get a new deal. Prescott and Micah Parsons are also set to get new deals in the next year or two. So, Jerry Jones needs to change the pay cap so that all three can be signed.
If the Cowboys win the Suρer Bowl this year, we think all three of them will get more money when it’s time to sign their contracts..
