Javon Baker, a rookie wide receiver, shocked the internet this past weekend when he said that he “makes people in wheelchairs stand up” because he’s so entertaining on the football field.
He seemed determined to make the rest of the NFL pay for ignoring him, and he wasn’t happy about being left off the selection board until the fourth round.
Without a doubt, Baker is more than just a pretty face. At UCF, he was a dynamic offensive playmaker with one of the best highlight reels of any rookie wide receiver. He can be a real threat in scenarios when the catch is challenged and a reliable opponent in face-to-face competitions with defensive backs.
A ton of video shows him dodging opponents and causing potential tacklers to miss while holding the ball. On the field, Baker might prove to be the real No. 1 receiver the Patriots have been waiting for.
