The Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott are reportedly considering starting talks because their interests line up again for the 2024–25 season. Fans, however, did not take well to Zeke’s return to Dallas.

ESPN reports that although neither side has ruled out a meeting or a possible transaction, both sides are amenable to discussions. Elliott joined the New England Patriots during the previous NFL season after Rhamondre Stevenson’s ιnjury made room for the former Cowboy.

Elliott added 313 yards on 51 receptions and two additional scores to his 642 yards on 184 carries and three touchdowns at the end of the 2023 campaign.

Following the announcement that Zeke might rejoin the Cowboys, devoted supporters of the Lone Star franchise responded with differing perspectives on the matter, the most of which focused on Elliott’s poor play in recent years.

“Oh wow, he’s cooking like an Easter egg,” an admirer said. Some replies, however, fell more on the other side of a welcome surprise.

I really have no idea what this organization is doing in the off-season. Zeke was let go by the Cowboys two years ago because his tires had no tread. Do they now wish to have him returned? Fools!”

“Actually it would be beyond stupiԀ since he’s washed up which is precisely why dumb and dumber, Jerry and Stephen will probably do it,” said a harsher-sounding fan.

Elliott was the fourth overall pick that Dallas made in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent seven seasons with the Cowboys, and in two of his first three NFL seasons, he led the league in rushes.

He has amassed 8,904 yards and 71 scores in eight years as a professional, in addition to 356 receptions for 2,649 yards and 14 touchdowns.
