Hannah Lewis, the girlfriend of Patriots rookie Bailey Zappe, continued the festivities after New England defeated the Browns 38–15 in Cleveland on Sunday to record its third victory of the year.
Lewis, who has been dating 23-year-old Zappe for five years, posted a selfie of herself at FirstEnergy Stadium with the amusing remark, “I’m on my pursuit of Zappiness,” on Instagram. Zappe used two fire emojis as his response to the post.
In this year’s NFL Draft, Zappe, a Western Kentucky product selected in the fourth round, completed 24 of 34 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns.
The Patriots’ triumph on Sunday was also their second consecutive after they blanked the Lions 29-0 the previous week.
Zappe is replacing injured starter Mac Jones, the second-year quarterback for the Patriots, who sprained his high ankle last month. Prior to the game in Cleveland on Sunday, Bill Belichick, the coach of New England, refrained from pledging that Jones would start every play after his injury comeback.
The Bears (2-4) will play the Patriots (3-3) on “Monday Night Football” the following week.
Like she did in April when the Patriots selected him 137th overall, Lewis will cherish this unique moment with Zappe in the interim.
“You should be really proud of yourself since you inspire me every day. She wrote, “I love you,” on Instagram at the moment.
