Atrick Mahomes is aware that preparation is the key to success. For that reason, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time in getting to work with receiver Marquise Brown in an attempt to win a third straight championship.
Just this Monday, “Hollywood” Brown’s agreement to the reigning NFL champions was officially announced. He will receive a $7 million salary for the first year, along with a $3 million signing bonus.
Brown claimed he signed with the Chiefs because of the “winning culture” head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have instilled in the group as soon as his hire was official. The wide receiver said, “Playing with Pat, (head) coach (Andy) Reid, a winning culture, was a big part of it.”
In response to the hiring, Mahomes did not hesitate to join his new target for a training session on the field.
The first time Mahomes and Brown have been together
Mahomes posted three photos of himself at a gym with the former Arizona Cardinal on his Instagram Stories. The receiver donned a Chiefs hoodie, black shorts, and white sneakers, while the quarterback wore a black tracksuit and red sneakers.
They are shown smiling next to one other in the first picture. They appear to be in the middle of their training session in the third image, while they are seen having a lively chat in the second.
Although there are no captions for the photos, Mahomes has tagged @primetime_jet, which is Brown’s platform account, in each one.
Mahomes against Brown
Mahomes promised that Brown’s presence will completely transform the Chiefs’ offense in an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter. “He just brings a tone of dynamic playmaking ability, and I think just being able to add a guy like that who’s ready to come in and work and be hungry,” the quarterback said.
Mahomes immediately issued a warning, saying, “I’ve already talked to him,” that there would be numerous practice sessions with the Chiefs’ recent signing. We’re trying to keep this going, so there will be a lot of throwing sessions in the future.”
Mahomes understands that in order to secure a three-peat victory, he must precisely calibrate each of his weaponry to within micrometer accuracy. He is attempting to make the most of the offseason by assigning additional work to the new players on the team, starting with Brown.
