Woods is likely to be the focal point of attention despite his celebrity status. He might be able to make progress toward playing in the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass later this month and perhaps even the Masters in April by participating in Monday’s very low-stakes event.Schlabach pointed out that while the 15-time major winner is undoubtedly the best player in sports history, he has also withdrew or failed to make the cut in four of his six appearances after sustaining serious injuries in a vehicle аccident in February 2021.
His most recent incident occurred last month when he had to be IV bags treated for influenza, which forced him to withdrаw from the Genesis Invitational’s second round. His withdrawal from the Masters last year in the third round was his maiden appearance on the PGA Tour.Whether Woods enters the Players Championship, a tournament he won in 2001 and again in 2013, is still up in the air.Commencing on March 14th, the tournament is among the largest on the PGA Tour schedule and comes little under a month before the April Masters. It just so happens to be in the ideal time slot for Woods to play and yet have time to recuperate to be on the field at Augusta National Golf Club on April 11.Jonny Leighfield of Golf Monthly provided the following information on Monday’s Seminole pro-member event: it is a two-person best-ball match that is regarded as a “highly-exclusive tournament” that “regularly hosts the best and brightest from across not only golf but also other sports and business.”
