Tom Brady is defending Travis Kelce in public. The NFL great discussed the incident on his show after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end grabbed national attention for shoving and swearing at head coach Andy Reid during Suρer Bowl LVIII.
“There are always little family issues, and I don’t mind seeing it because I was involved in a lot of those,” Brady said in the Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray season finale on SiriusXM. “There is a lot of emotion. You are undoubtedly out of balance and out of center. At that time, you are not in a contemplative state. You’re totally committed to competing and succeeding.”
“So I think a lot of the things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back,” he remarked. “Coach Reid handled it really well, as he usually does, in my opinion, because he simply stated, ‘I was a little off balance and Travis is such a competitor.'” And I like it because it clearly demonstrates his capacity for leadership.”
Brady went on, “Coach Reid doesn’t take that personally at all, which speaks to his confidence in himself.” He doesn’t feel insulted by someone when he looks at it. He doesn’t notice anybody attempting to minimize him; he accepts things as they are and doesn’t strive to turn them into something greater than they are. None of those things are what Travis is attempting to achieve. All he’s trying to do is remain focused and energized.”
In fact, Reid said to reporters about Kelce during the contentious sideline exchange, “He keeps me young.” He gave that hip out a try. I usually give him a little leeway, but he caught me off guard and I had no feet under me.”
“He had an emotional day today. I understand that since I have five children,” Reid said. “What I like about him is his passion for the game and his desire to see his team succeed. Furthermore, it’s not selfish in the slightest. And I recognize that. I follow him, so even if he runs into me, we both know that. He just knocked me off balance.”
Kelce made a joke in response to the event, saying, “Oh, you guys saw that?”
He quipped, “I was just telling him how much I love him, but I’m gonna keep it between us unless my mic-up tells the world,” before calling his coach “unbelievable.”
“I have the best coach this game has ever seen in me. “He’s among the best me𝚗 I’ve ever seen as a leader,” Kelce said. “I owe my entire career to that guy being out of control in how emotional I get. He’s really helped me channel that emotion and that passion.” I adore him so much.”
After defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25 to 22 in overtime, the Chiefs emerged triumphant from the pivotal match. Following the Chiefs’ victory, Taylor Swift joined her beau on the field in support of Kelce.
The two then spent the whole evening partying in Las Vegas, hаnging out with Swift’s parents, dancing to her songs at a bar, and finishing the evening with chicken fingers.
