To win, Tom Brady knows a thing or two. Ever since he quit the NFL, Patrick Mahomes has looked like the natural successor to that winning lineage.
The 28-year-old is almost done with his third title. He led the Kansas City Chiefs to Suρer Bowl LVIII, where they will play the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 in Las Vegas.
There are still seven Suρer Bowl rings between him and Brady, but some people think the Kansas City quarterback is as good as Brady when it comes to being called “Greatest Of All Time.”
People are comparing the two players, but Brady said that there is room in the NFL conversation for both of them to shine for their own reasons.
“I think Patrick can’t do anything that takes away from what I tried to do in my career, and I think nothing I did can take away from what he’s trying to do,” the 46-year-old said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.
“I feel like I did my best, and remember that even though I looked up to sports stars, I could never be Steve Young.” There’s no way I could be Joe Montana. There’s no way I could be Dan Marino or John Elway. They were the people I looked up to as a child, and they had great lives. I admire how hard they worked at their jobs. I try to do the same thing.
“And trust me, I have a lot of respect for anyone who can win seven Suρer Bowls.” I understand how tough it is. Someone will get a big hug from me after I thank them.
Brady’s trips to the Suρer Bowl with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all been based on sheer resolve. The same has been true for his 2023 run with the Chiefs.
Kansas City’s season has been full of problems on offense, but the team is now in its second straight Suρer Bowl thanks mostly to Mahomes’s great play in the playoffs.
It’s not just Mahomes, though. Other quarterbacks in the Suρer Bowl have also done well.
Brock Purdy, the Niners’ quarterback who was picked with the last pick in last year’s NFL draft, has become a great quarterback in his second year in the league.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers has built a strong system around Purdy, and Brady was also quick to praise last season’s “Mr. Irrelevant.”
“Brock has done a great job with the chance. “You are aware that he got it and used it,” he said. “They picked him late in the round.” I know he has a grudge against someone, and he wants to show that he belongs on that team every day. That group they’re running is great. Even though I admire Kyle Shanahan, Brock has done a great job.

Career change
The next group of players is getting ready for the NFL season’s biggest game, but Brady is getting ready for the next step in his own career. After 23 years of playing the game at the top level, Brady is going up to the commentators’ booth. He decided to join Fox Sports as their lead expert soon after he retired.Reports sаy Brady agreed to a $375 million, 10-year deal with Fox Sports, but the exact terms of the deal were never made public.Brady talked about how excited he was to start next season on Tuesday, especially since he will be able to cover the Suρer Bowl in New Orleans, where he won his first title in 2002, with Fox as the home station.”I’ll go in there with the chance to start over and learn, and I’m sure I’ll feel better by the end of the year,” Brady said.”So there are some really cool things that made me think about taking that chance. I really want to be a great NFL representative in the game.”
