There is a gravitational pull on every star. People are meаn to the Dallas Cowboys because they wear one.
Micah Parsons is one of the best defensive players in the world. He plays edge rush for the Cowboys. His presence is a huge help to the Dallas defense. His music regularly lives up to the hype. That’s not enough for those who sаy he’s stopping the Cowboys from going to the Suρer Bowl.
And now Micah Parsons is kind of reacting to the claim that he is the Cowboys’ “most selfish player.”
“Yall just want a reaction outta me, it’s not going to work,” Parsons wrote on Twitter, clearly referring to the debate that former Dallas receiver Jesse Holley started.
Holley recently went on Ray Ray’s Podcast to talk about “America’s Team.” He played for the Cowboys in 2010 and 2011. He talked a lot about how disagreeable he thought Parsons was as a boss and how that affected the Cowboys’ culture.
He said, “I think Micah Parsons is the most selfish player on this football team.” Michael Parsons doesn’t want to play defense because it’s too much duty. It could be his youth talking. Mikey doesn’t want to learn. Micah doesn’t want to draw attention to himself, and I really think Micah wants things to go well for him.
He talked about how Parsons didn’t want to play off-ball safety, which was a position where the team had trouble this season. He didn’t call him “a dumb player,” but he thinks that the fact that he won’t switch places hurts the Cowboys’ chances of winning.
Holley said, “If Micah ever turned into a movie fan like Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu, he could play anywhere.” “The trouble is that he doesn’t want to.” “Well I’ve already had success doing this, and I’m about to get the biggest bag in NFL history doing this,” he said.
When the 2024 league year starts in early March, Parsons will be able to sign a new contract. The deal might not happen right away, but he will almost certainly be the highest-paid defensive player in football history.
On the other hand, there isn’t much evidence that the Dallas coaching staff asked Parsons to play a lot of defense this season.
In his first season, Parsons did well at linebacker, where he played most of his snaps. The Cowboys then seemed to understand that not letting him rush the passer all the time was a waste of his skills. We know for sure that Parsons’s great job as a manager was the only thing that forced Dallas’s hand.
Holley would then scold Parsons for not staying with the defense longer after practice or having a film session at his place. People who know Parsons have argued against this point.
Holley is in the building because he works on the Cowboys’ website and really thinks about the team’s problems. It’s clear that this is his trutҺ. And Parsons has his. He has been a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year every year.
