The Kansas City Chiefs have revealed their Super Bowl LVIII jerseys by making a direct and clear reference to one of Taylor Swift’s hits. This comes at a time when Swift is planning to go from Tokyo to Las Vegas in order to witness her man, Travis Kelce, play in the National Football League.
During the promotion of their new uniforms, the Kansas City Chiefs published a four-second video clip showed quarterback Patrick Mahomes removing dust from a red home jersey that included his number 15 on it. Mahomes was also seen posing in the white game pants that are customary for the squad.
The Chiefs’ X account tweeted as a caption to the video, “Are you ready for it?” in response to the video.Embroidered with the typical Super Bowl patch, as well as the AFC patch following the Chiefs’ championship victory against the Baltimore Ravens the previous Sunday, the jerseys that will be worn for Super Sunday this year will also feature an NKH patch in honor of Normal Knobel Hunt, the mother of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt. Her death occurred in June of the previous year, when she was 85 years old.
Additionally, Knobel Hunt was a minority owner of the Chiefs.September was the month that the team made the announcement that they would be honoring her by wearing the ‘NKH’ patch throughout the season. Not even the Super Bowl matchup versus the 49ers will be an exception to this rule.
“This season, my family and I are so proud to honor our mother’s life and legacy,” Clark Hunt said in a statement at the time. “We are so very grateful for this opportunity.”
“My mother was a huge fan of football, and she was especially passionate about the Kansas City Chiefs.” In addition to this, she was a firm believer in the ability of sports to bring people together and in the influence that sports can have on young people.
Additionally, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl clash against the 49ers will be the first major game that Norma Knobel Hunt will not be there for any of the games. Before she passed away, she was one of the few people who had attended each and every Super Bowl since the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game in 1967, as stated by SB Nation. She was one of the few people to have done so.
‘NKH’ was able to watch her Chief play in five of those games, including the team’s first and last Super Bowl victories. The first Super Bowl victory was a 35-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers in 1967, and the last Super Bowl victory was a 38-35 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII last year.
Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs earned their first Super Bowl ring in 2020, which was the last Super Bowl that ‘NKH’ witnessed in person. This was the Chiefs’ second championship in the past four years.
The Chiefs will now have no choice but to hope that they are victorious in their first Super Bowl trip since her passing.
