Roberts III attended St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he played high school basketball. In 2021, he started receiving offers again. As a freshman, he had offers from Miami, Syracuse, Florida International, Texas A&M, Colorado, and Albany State.

The 6-foot-2, 270-pound оffensive lineman turned down Power 5 scholarships from Miami, Colorado, Marshall, Florida International, and Florida International to attend the Daytona Beach HBCU.

Eighteen former Aquinas Raiders players have been selected into the NFL since 2012. highest number achieved by any high school in August 2022.

Additionally, William Roberts III received an offer from Albany State, a Division II HBCU in the SIAC. Rick Ross, the father of William Roberts III, attended Albany State on a football scholarship after graduating from Miami Carol City Senior High School.

When questioned about Roberts in 2021, St. Thomas Aquinas head coach Roger Harriott said to 247Sports, “Will’s size, strength, and athleticism have enabled him to play some quality time this season and start a couple of games.” In addition to being a very gifted athlete, he is a well-rounded person who values character.
