NFL star Patrick Mahomes is just like most people — he would rather stay home with his family during the holiday than work.
The Kansas City Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas, and the 27-year-old star QB has revealed he has mixed emotions about playing on the holiday.

Mahomes talked to NBC Sports ProFootballTalks about playing on December 25 after the Chiefs beat the Patriots 27–17 last Sunday. He talked about his thoughts on the game.
“I believe it’s two things.
“I’m happy because you get that stand-alone game.” At noon, you get to play at Arrowhead Stadium.
“I mean, everybody’s gonna be just opening presents and getting the food in them.”Then they’ll be very happy, and they’ll watch the Kansas City Chiefs play.
Mahomes said, “So I’m excited about that.”
The two-time NFL Super Bowl hero talked about how hard it is to be away from his family to play in the game, even though he was excited to be on Prime Time.
“I’m a little disappointed I’m going to miss Christmas Eve with my kids and Christmas morning and miss Santa coming.”But I’ll be able to spend the night with them and open gifts with them.
“Okay, that’s a great chance. I’m looking forward to that.
“We’ll miss the kids a little bit, but we’ll celebrate after the game’s over,” Mahomes said.
As of Week 16, Christmas Day, the Chiefs have a 9-5 record and are in first place in the AFC West.
In 14 games, Mahomes has thrown for 3,703 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 13 picks.
