Lewis Hamilton teed off with NFL icon Tom Brady before this week’s Miami GP and received some FORE-some news.

 

Before the GP, Hamilton stated his swing was rusty while playing PR golf with Brady.

 

F1 great Lewis Hamilton and Tom Brady competed in the Big Pilot Charity Challenge at Miami Beach Golf Club.

Hamilton remarked that he should stick to ‘driving on the track’ after his mixed performance in his first golf tournament in three years.

Tom Brady blasted the longest drive of 278 yards, but it veered left onto an adjacent fairway at Miami.

It follows a poor start to the F1 season in which he struggled with pace, lost to teammate George Russell, and dealt with a bouncing car.

For this weekend’s US Grand Prix, Mercedes chief Toto Wolff hopes his team has improved Hamilton’s car.

Wolff, who watched Hamilton finish 13th in Imola after one of his worst weekends, said: “Since returning from Italy, we’ve learned as much as possible from the weekend and in the wind tunnel and simulations.

We found various ways to improve the car, and we’ll be doing experiments in Miami to correlate those simulations and confirm the development route for the future races.

“This squad has showed tenacity for years, and the rough start to this season has fired up every player to fix it.

“The saying ‘smooth seas do not make good sailors’ comes to mind.”

With his self-deprecating golf quips with Brad, Marcus Allen, and Brandon Okpalobi, Brit Hamilton was thinking about his rough 2022 on the track.

Hamilton observed one of his attempts and quipped that he’d stick to ‘driving on the track’ after three years out.

He made his most telling quip after landing a pitch shot a few feet away in the closest-to-the-pin event.

A smiling 37-year-old stated, “Finally, I’m going to win something this year.”

The duo talked deeply.

Later, they smiled and hugged.

A charity golf event replaced sports for Tom Brady and Lewis Hamilton.
