Terry Bradshaw acknowledges that he likes Mike McCarthy but also notes that the Dallas Cowboys may have to make a coach change in real time on Fox

FOX Sports analyst Terry Bradshaw believes the Dallas Cowboys could move on from Mike McCarthy.

The Pittsburgh Steelers legend, 75, made the comments following the Cowboys’ dismal wild-card loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Bradshaw joined Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, and Rоb Gronkowski on Fox NFL Sunday to discuss McCarthy’s future.

The Dallas head coach has been with the franchise since 2020 and has enjoyed three straight winning seasons.

He has amassed just one postseason victory, however, with Sunday’s embarrassing loss leaving his job under threаt.

Bradshaw said on Fox, “I have a relationship with Mike McCarthy. I like him, I like him a lot.

“Three seasons of 12-5 you’d think would be enough [to save his job].

“But I got to sаy, as McCarthy walked off that field, Jerry Jones at 81 years of age was maybe saying to himself, ‘I got to make a change now at head coach.’

“Honestly, they’ve underachieved.”

Fans were quick to comment on the exchange, with one writing on X, “Dallas has a great team. Unfortunately, they were not coached properly and need new GB.””McCarthy knew the stakes were high when he took the job. All NFL head coaches do. I knew it was over for him when the Packers scored their first second half TD in 5 plays. It showed that the Cowboy’s coaching staff figured out nothing during halftime. Like it or not, that’s on McCarthy,” another said.

“As a lifelong Cowboys fan I sаy nothing will change as long as Jerry is the owner! I expected them to choke and unfortunately they keep on proving me right!” a third added.

But a fourth countered, “Blaming the coaches is easy. The players also need to be blamed for such a poor performance. There was no fire or heart for the Dallas Cowboys.”

Cowboys owner Jones was spotted fuming in the stands during Sunday’s humiliation.

Dallas trailed 27-0 in the first half before garbage time points eventually resulted in a 48-32 loss.

Jones told reporters after the game, “This seems like the most painful [playoff loss] because we all had such great expectations and we had hope for this team.

“Thought that we were aligned and in great shape and it didn’t happen for us.

“I know where the responsibilities start and end and I’ve got that real clear and I know that.

“I know how hard, how much it meant to our fans to advance.”
