Dak Prescott Responds to Terence Steele’s Detractors

 

Dak said, “Terence would be the first to tell you that he wants to play better and I know he will. This isn’t his first challenge.

 

This “adversity” is partly due to his rehab from a devastating knee ιnjury late in the 2022 season.

Coach Mike McCarthy: “Anytime anyone has a major joint ιnjury, that first year back is a challenge. He needs to work on certain issues due to his ιnjury. However, that wasn’t his finest game.

“He is definitely still figҺting back from the ιnjury.”

The troubles are even more notable because Steele, 26, signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal extension with the Cowboys, making him a $14 million APY player.

He’s always been good at run-blocking, not pass-blocking. But at his salary—or any salary—Steele must improve quickly and drastically.

His record shows it’s possible. So does his quarterback.

“He’s not going to let one game put him down (in the dumps) and dictate how he plays the rest of the season,” Prescott said of Steele, who may recover Sunday against the Giants.
