Tom Brady sent Bill Belichick flowers. A year after Belichick complimented Brady for his illustrious career, Brady paid tribute to his old coach after the Patriots and Belichick parted ways on Thursday.
Brady praised Belichick on Instagram, whose 24-year tenure includes six Suρer Bowls, nine AFC championships, and 17 division triumphs.
“I’m glad to have played under the finest NFL coach ever.
“He was a wonderful leader for the team and its players. We did many remarkable things throughout time, many of which are hard to repeat. He labored every day to help us win the ultimate team sport. We succeeded, but I learnt the most from our biggest challenges. He inspired the company to never give up in the face of hardship and do what we could do—DO OUR JOB.
Without Coach Belichick, I would not have been the player I am. I’m eternally thankful. I wish you well in your future move.”
It’s clear that Brady and Belichick are the best NFL quarterback-coach combination. They won six titles, one more than Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi during the 1960s Packers dynasty. The only other QB-coach tandem with four Suρer Bowls is Terry Bradshaw and Chuck Noll.
Brady is guaranteed to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fаme in 2028, his first year eligible. Belichick will likely go to celebrate the greatest player of all time.
Belichick will also be in the Hall of Fаme, but first, the 71-year-old coach may join another team like Brady before retiring.
